# Day 18 – Elizabeth Gilmore’s Things I Like to Draw

Having kids around

Is a reminder to live

In each “now” moment

Drawing is something I loved doing as a kid.

It came with a big whack of “I am not good enough” as I got older.

I embodied the “problem” in Pablo’s quote — hook, line and sinker!!

Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once they grow up — Pablo Picasso

I sat next to a mate in high school art class. She draws solely from her imagination. The things she can get her pencil to do are mesmerising. …

Today’s most fitting

Mnemonic for the planets

“Many Very Ed-

Nature” – pretty much spot on

“Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. Its not” – Dr. Seuss.

Some planetary poetry goodness from Margie Willis

and as the universe would have it… a breadcrumb to a piece that has an image much like the one I used as a reference for today’s prompt

Crackle warmth and glow

Campfire convos can’t be beat

But remember to

Keep a close eye on that heat

Bushfires are a wild beast

I love watching the embers of a fire glow.

Chats by a campfire are like no other. Something special in a ritual from ages gone by.

Like with everything, campfires come with a cautionary but….

Knowing the untamed nature of bushfires we are very cautious when we light a campfire.

Never in Summer.

Our bush land is primed for fire. Australian natives are resilient to fire… the nutrients left after a fire helps to germinate their…

Life isn’t always filled
With rainbows and lollipops
But could it be… Mum?

When my girls are being “kids” and don’t want to do something that needs to be done, my go-to saying to combat their moans and groans is — “Life isn’t all rainbows and lollipops”.

Matilda says to me yesterday — “Why not, Mum?”

Good question kiddo.

You got me!

Why not… well, I know it isn’t BUT even in the seemingly darkest moments of life here on Earth, there is a silver lining to be discovered.

Sometimes it just needs the ingredient of time to make it…

Heart is a muscle
Cruel Sea of emotions
All taste sweet with time

No matter the season the seas of emotions are in, love is always surrounding us.

Sometimes we are too distracted to notice it.

Last week I had a visit from my Grandfather. He died when my Mum was four — so it was extremely unexpected!

He was here to give my Mum a big hug. Before he left, he said — tell her to remember love is the only constant.

Mum isn’t a believer. I told her anyway. The words made her smile a teary smile.

Imagination…
