Dear From Lemon

HEEEELLLLLP MEEEEEE. What’s an almost 23-year-old girl to do?

I’m torn. Totally and utterly torn.

Torn between an awesome opportunity, a kind, thoughtful and loving boyfriend I’ve had since high school and a pile of friends that I’ve had since kindy — all settling down in our hometown.

I scored a bachelor’s degree in Medical Science with first-class honours, which has gifted me an offer for a full scholarship to study at Oxford. I didn’t even have to apply — they asked me. Who would have thought?! Me!

Procreate play by me — no reference photo this time — psychedelics from the past at play for sure ;)

Day 25 — Elizabeth Gilmore’s Things I Like…

Procreate play by me – reference photo was my own – love seeing this guy live in the Amazon- he wasn’t wearing all the same gear tho haha – we did have a shot of some magic potion that may have mixed with the magic of being in the jungle so… perhaps it made it seem like he was…?!

#Day 23 — Elizabeth Gilmore’s Things I Like to Draw

Play in procreate by me | Still loving the digital — drew this little one yesterday. Using Procreate could isolate and put on her own canvas — happy days! A double banger on saving time and still smiling cause she was all in my head — still no idea what that is all about, but hey — I’ll click one day — sure it all stems down to the ego and not feeling “good enough”!

Meet Betty the Bat
Only true mammal with flight
An intriguing sight

With beauty abound
As night’s curtain hits the ground
Singing clicks her sound

Every living thing
Balances nature’s swing
Question what we bring?

Human voices mix
A misguided source of blame
Media playing tricks

Leaves me wondering
Does anyone know the truth?
Minus doubt’s shadow

Gotta love digital play- used trees background and doodles of critters — from my imagination this time! yay…a little sign that one day I’ll be able to draw more from memory as the library of resources in my mind builds! – sure there is a more cohesive way to merge the doodles and background, but I don’t know how…yet!

Place to rest your head
Put your feet up and just be
Its somewhere special
By yourself or with others
A home is more than a house

I was starting to feel a bit weird getting compliments from people about my drawings — “I’m a fraud!” I kept saying to myself.

All I’m doing is copying a source photo (usually my own photo) and changing a few things around.

Which led to yesterday’s big outpour from cleaning off some old filters!!

Soooo — I thought, let’s make it really clear that I am very much learning and following the flow…

Having kids around

Is a reminder to live

In each “now” moment

Drawing is something I loved doing as a kid.

It came with a big whack of “I am not good enough” as I got older.

I embodied the “problem” in Pablo’s quote — hook, line and sinker!!

Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once they grow up — Pablo Picasso

I sat next to a mate in high school art class. She draws solely from her imagination. The things she can get her pencil to do are mesmerising. …
