I have been teary every since this morning…standing at the edge of my driveway with a candle at my feet.

It was comforting to see my neighbours doing the same. It is usually a time I stand next to my father at the dawn service in Kings Park.

You are right, different. But the feelings are still there. Feelings of gratitude for those that gave their services and lives.

Your words made me tear up again, the smell of ANZAC cookies smelling up the house as they cool from the oven cheering me up. I am certain these are a lot more indulgent than those offered back then.

Thanks for shining your light.

Thanks for being you.

Lest we forget.
