The trend extends across the seas too… a few of my friends also created new surnames for their growing families, same sex, married, unmarried.

Myself, I chose not to marry… my last name different from my children. Even though I birthed them, they do not “belong” to me… each their own sovereign beings. I’m just a their guide for a bit… just as they are my teachers too!

A last name no longer a “branding” as it once was.
